It’s safe to say 2020 was a year that no-one was quite ready for. Despite the challenges of a global pandemic, our hospitality industry was able to adapt, survive, and even thrive 💪
At Bopple, we are so proud of our venue partners for the way they tackled a changing environment to keep doing what they do best.
Our Venue partners had some great wins

Special mentions go to Proof BBQ & Booze, Umami, Gauge, Happy Boy, HellBound and Soapbox Beer. They all launched pick up and delivery services powered by Bopple. This enabled them to keep trading during Brisbane’s lockdown.
- Proof BBQ & Booze increased their revenue by offering self-delivery. This represented over 26% of their total sales in March, even though they were live for only one week of the month. They struggled to keep up with the volume of orders during lockdown!
- Miss Jones added a Pantry section to their menu. This resulted in an 82% increase in revenue through the app compared to February. They almost doubled the average spend and were able to trade under the new restrictions.
- Pawpaw Cafe saw quadruple the number of orders placed via the app from February to March. This meant an increase in revenue of 425% via the platform across that same period.
- Happy Boy had such a great response to their delivery menu that they launched a brand-new online restaurant, Kid Curry.

Our venue partner Comuna Cantina in Everton Park received a Pivot & Innovation Award. They teamed up with Corbett & Claude and Tetto Rooftop Bar to offer a drive-through takeaway service!

We added some new features to make life easier!
COVID-Safe register and menu QR codes
Contactless became the norm and QR codes ruled. We made it easier for customers to get checked in and straight to checking out the menu.
Guest check-out
Customers can now place an order without creating an account or signing in. Venues can still choose whether to allow incognito orders or not.
Google Pay & Apple Pay
We streamlined checkouts with payments via new platforms. Customers can now check out with Google Pay & Apple Pay when using the web app.
Facebook Pixel
We added this unique social media ad tracking & management tool to help venues supercharge their customer acquisition process!
We’re launching some great new features and tools in 2021 — things like Facebook Pixel integration for the merchant storefront to track customer orders. There are plenty more exciting features that we’ll be able to announce soon 🤓
